What you need to know: Frida’s Fruit Fiesta is a simple Bingo board game for preschoolers that focuses on letter recognition and fine motor development. It is one of the games from the Educational Insights line that incorporates the use of tweezers. Tweezers are helpful for kids because they build muscles in the hands, specifically in the thumb, index, and middle fingers which are needed for holding and using a pencil and scissors.

Frida’s Fruit Fiesta comes with a triple spinner,

4 game cards,

26 letters in fruit bowls, a rainforest game board,

and these awesome Frida Squeezers.

To play: Spin the triple spinner, and determine which letter you want to pick up from the rain forest. Remember it is a good idea to choose the letter that you have on your game card. Use the tweezers to pick up the letter. However, watch out! if you land on a monkey, you have to put one letter back. If you land on a bird though, you can steal a letter from your opponent.

The player who gets 4 letters in a row on their game card wins the game!

Why I love this: This game is easy to learn and super engaging for preschoolers. It encourages turn-taking, following directions, playing with others and even some problem-solving (deciding on which letters to pick up). It also works on visual attention and scanning (as children locate letters on their game cards and game board) while strengthening the development of the tripod grasp (grasp needed for holding a pencil and manipulating small objects).
